Abstract

Data analysis skills involve reading and drawing conclusions based on the analyzed data. Despite the crucial importance of these skills, many studies indicate that they are often not emphasized enough in daily life. This study aims to identify the level of data analysis skills among final-year students at Universiti Putra Malaysia. Additionally, the study aims to identify the factors that contribute to the development of data analysis skills and those that hinder such mastery. The research employs a quantitative analysis method, and data collection will be carried out among final-year students in the fields of science and social sciences at Universiti Putra Malaysia. The findings indicate that students perceive their data analysis skills as being at a moderate to a high level (M = 4.44, SD = 0.622). Exercises are a significant factor that can help students acquire data analysis skills. Moreover, various environmental factors hinder students from acquiring those skills, including a lack of knowledge, an unsupportive environment, and a lazy attitude. In conclusion, data analysis skills should be given full attention to cultivate more capable and potential individuals across various fields.
